H&S Consultancy
based in Willenhall are looking for an experienced
Health and Safety Consultant
to join their expanding team, providing health and safety support and assistance in a practical and commercial way, to a varied client base including clients within the
Construction
industry.
A competitive starting salary of
between £35,000 will be offered depending on experience with excellent benefits to include 33 days holiday, pension, EAP, life assurance and bonus.
Most advice will be provided by telephone and email, with travel to client sites across the UK when inspections, audits, risk assessments or incident investigations are required.
The successful candidate will be required to:-

Help clients identify hazards, implement sensible controls and meet relevant legal and accreditation requirements. To include preparing documentation, SSIP applications, advising on construction safety matters and recommending suitable training and PPE.

Prepare, review and amend risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.

Complete COSHH assessments and advise clients on suitable control measures.

Draft construction phase plans and support clients with CDM 2015 duties.

Support SSIP accreditation applications, including CHAS, SMAS, SafeContractor and Constructionline.

Provide clear telephone and email advice on health and safety legislation, PPE, training and client-specific queries.

Conduct site inspections, health and safety audits, fire risk assessments where competent to do so, and other client assessments.

Produce clear reports, action plans, policies and procedures tailored to client needs.

Support accident and incident investigations, identify underlying causes and recommend corrective actions.

Build effective client relationships, manage agreed deliverables and maintain accurate records.

Identify appropriate opportunities to introduce relevant training, PPE and consultancy services.

Keep professional knowledge current and work in accordance with the IOSH Code of Conduct and internal policies.
The ideal candidate will have:-

The ability to balance compliance with practical business needs. Good commercial acumen.

Knowledge or experience of construction sector would be advantageous.
-
Minimum of NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent.

Experience preparing RAMS, COSHH assessments, policies and construction phase plans.

Experience completing SSIP applications, such as CHAS or SafeContractor.

Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, including CDM 2015.

NEBOSH Construction desirable but not essential.

In-depth generalist knowledge of a health & safety.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong administration skills.
-
Ability to build rapport and engage with clients.

You will have the ability to demonstrate a pragmatic, best practice solution-based approach.

Full UK driving licence with own vehicle (essential).
Travel throughout the UK will be required although travel is manageable and not extensive.
