Independent School Premises Manager

Location: Hammersmith and Fulham

About The School:

My client is an independent educational institution dedicated to providing a safe and enriching environment. They pride themselves on their commitment to excellence and are now seeking a dedicated and experienced Premises Manager to join the team.

Position Summary:

I am looking for a Premises Manager who will assist and advise the Bursar in the upkeep and development of the school’s security, fabric, and services. This role is crucial in ensuring the school operates efficiently, economically, and safely, in compliance with all relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Building Projects: Supervise new construction, structural alterations, and repairs.
• Routine Maintenance: Identify, prioritise, and execute maintenance tasks. Manage maintenance contracts and ensure efficient utility supplies.
• Site Security: Maintain site security, oversee alarm systems, and act as a primary keyholder.
• Team Management: Coordinate and monitor the Premises Team consisting of 10 employees, ensure adequate cover, and oversee performance and training.
• Health & Safety: Oversee health and safety compliance, conduct risk assessments, and advise the Health and Safety Committee.
• Budget Management: Work with the Assistant Bursar Finance to manage the premises budget and liaise on large expenditures.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience in premises management, preferably within an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of building maintenance, health and safety regulations, and security.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
