Service Charge/Finance Manager - Beckenham, South East London - £40,000 to £45,000
My client, an independent property management agent based in Beckenham, are seeking a Service Charge Accountant/Finance Manager to join their team.
Reporting to the Director, you will be managing the accounting function for a portfolio of 65 developments.
Main Duties:

Management Responsibilities:
To manage and oversee a team of 4, delivering one-to-ones and training

Accounting & Compliance:
Manage the accounting function for a property portfolio, ensuring compliance with RICS, TPI, lease requirements, and regulations (including VAT and Payroll).

Company Secretarial:
Handle company secretarial duties, including legal info requests, preparing VFM and Cure Company accounts, and maintaining property and client databases.

Service Charge Accounting
: Prepare budgets, issue service charge and ground rent demands, manage arrears and credit control and ensure timely completion of year-end accounts. Set up new properties up on Blockman System and Companies House as applicable

Financial Reporting:
Oversee day-to-day financial matters of properties, reconcile client funds, manage payroll (if applicable), and ensure accurate financial records.

Legal Financial Duties:
Prepare financial elements of LPE1 Sales Pack, liaise with solicitors, and ensure proper documentation after property transfers.

Other Responsibilities:
Maintain updated financial information, prepare and submit VAT returns, issue quarterly fee invoices, ensure proper authorisation and recording of payments, and prepare annual accounts for submission.
Requirements:

Minimum 3-5 years' service charge accounts experience

Corporate accounts would be ideal

Software experience with Blockman and Zero would be advantageous

Strong leadership skills

Analytical with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

Strong articulate communication skills

Good organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines

Hard working with a positive attitude and work ethic
Hours:
Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm, 1 hour lunch break, 5 days in the office. Parking onsite and free parking is available within a 5-minute walk of the office or alternatively there are several local car parks nearby.
Holidays:
23 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, increasing to 25 days after one full year of service
