A leading groundwork and civil engineering contractor in Bedfordshire is seeking an Freelance Estimator. The company specialises in large commercial and resident projects, supported by a modern plant fleet and experienced in-house teams. Requirements:

• 7+ years' experience as an estimator
• Bedfordshire based
• Must have own Ltd Company set up in the UK with insurances
• Background in - Groundworks/Infrastructure/Civil Engineering
• Working towards Chartered status or other recognised bodies

Duties:

• Review tender documentation and quantify scope of works for accurate costing
• Prepare competitive cost estimates, including preliminaries and bills of quantities
• Identify and manage commercial and technical risks, proposing best-value solutions
• Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing
• Present tender submissions and lead commercial handover to the delivery team

This role is a freelance position, however, will be open to extension at the end of contract for the right person.
