Our client is a respected consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering project management and cost consultancy services. Working across commercial, residential, public sector, and mixed-use developments, they pride themselves on providing practical solutions and building long-standing relationships with their clients.
With an expanding workload, they are now looking to strengthen their Nottingham team with the addition of an experienced Quantity Surveyor.
Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. You will work closely with clients and project teams to ensure cost efficiency, value for money, and commercial success.
This role would suit a Quantity Surveyor with consultancy or client-side experience and a background in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor role include:
Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies
Managing tender processes, including preparing bills of quantities and contract documentation
Carrying out valuations of work in progress and preparing interim applications for payment
Monitoring project costs and preparing financial reports
Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
Advising on procurement strategies and contract management
Ensuring compliance with contractual and legal requirements
Delivering a high level of client service and communication
Person
To be successful in this role, candidates should ideally have:
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a construction consultancy
Relevant degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
Professional chartership (or working towards it) preferred but not essential
Strong numerical, analytical, and commercial awareness
Good knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts (JCT, NEC etc.)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
A proactive approach and commitment to client satisfaction
