Daniel Owen are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Director to lead the launch and strategic growth of a new tiling business within the construction industry. This is a unique opportunity to build and shape a specialist subcontracting company from the ground up, backed by a well-established group.

Role Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the business strategy, driving operational excellence, and securing a strong position in the market. You will take full ownership of company performance, from tendering through to project delivery and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement the business plan, commercial strategy, and operational framework

Build strong relationships with main contractors, developers, and key supply chain partners

Lead the tendering, estimating, and delivery of tiling packages across a range of sectors

Ensure all projects meet high standards of quality, health and safety, and client expectations

Recruit, lead, and mentor a growing team as the business scales

Monitor financial performance, manage budgets, and report to the board

Identify and pursue growth opportunities in both commercial and residential markets
Candidate Profile:

Proven leadership experience within the construction or specialist subcontracting sector (tiling experience advantageous but not essential)

Strong commercial and operational background with a track record of delivering profitable projects

In-depth understanding of construction processes, site operations, and subcontractor management

Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset and a hands-on approach to business development

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Experience growing or running a business is highly desirable
