Join a leading laboratory as a Facilities and Environmental Officer. This role offers a dynamic work environment where you will be instrumental in managing both facilities and environmental compliance, ensuring efficient and safe operations within the pharmaceutical industry.
This is a hands-on role where the successful applicant will be providing maintenance support to site equioment.
Day-to-day of the role:

Building Maintenance:
Coordinate routine inspections, minor repairs, and liaise with external contractors for larger repairs and upgrades. Assisting with building maintenance tasks, including routine inspections, minor repairs,

Contract Coordination:
Manage maintenance schedules, contractor services, and maintain effective communication with vendors.

Equipment Maintenance:
Oversee and conduct maintenance on critical laboratory equipment to ensure operational efficiency.

Facilities Maintenance:
Address internal maintenance requests promptly and manage urgent facilities issues effectively.

Environmental Compliance:
Monitor activities related to environmental standards, including waste disposal and emissions tracking.

Emergency Response & Security:
Act as an emergency responder and ensure site security, coordinating staff and activities during out-of-hours emergencies.

Inventory & Purchasing Support:
Assist in purchasing lab equipment and manage facility deliveries, maintaining an equipment master manual.

SOP Management & Documentation:
Develop and update standard operating procedures for facilities and environmental tasks, ensuring regulatory compliance.

Environmental Support:
Support the implementation of the company’s sustainability goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience in facilities management or a similar role.

Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across multiple departments.

Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet strict deadlines.

Full UK driving license and use of own car for work-related purposes.

Experience in a laboratory environment and familiarity with lab equipment and environmental monitoring procedures is desirable.

Knowledge of quality standards in a laboratory setting.
