Furniture Installation Team Lead

An established workplace installation and logistics business is seeking an experienced Furniture Installation Supervisor to lead on-site delivery of complex commercial furniture projects.

This role suits a hands-on supervisor with strong technical knowledge of office furniture installations and the ability to manage multiple teams in fast-paced, live working environments. Projects range from corporate office fit-outs to specialist installation works with tight deadlines and high client expectations.

The Role

As Furniture Installation Supervisor, you will take responsibility for overseeing on-site installation activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

You will lead employed fitters and subcontract installation teams, coordinate daily activities, and act as the on-site point of contact for project stakeholders. This position requires a proactive leader who is comfortable working on complex projects and solving problems as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise commercial furniture installations on client sites
  • Manage teams of employed installers and subcontract labour
  • Oversee complex installations including workstations, trading desks, meeting rooms, acoustic pods, and specialist furniture systems
  • Coordinate closely with project managers and other trades on site
  • Ensure installations are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines
  • Maintain high standards of quality, productivity, and site safety
  • Identify and resolve installation or logistical issues on site
  • Communicate professionally with clients and site stakeholders

Requirements

  • Proven experience installing commercial office furniture systems
  • Previous experience supervising installation teams on site
  • Experience managing subcontract installers
  • Ability to read and interpret installation drawings and floor plans
  • Strong leadership, organisation, and problem-solving skills
  • Confident communicator with a customer-focused approach
  • Solid understanding of health & safety within construction or fit-out environments
  • Full UK driving licence and valid CSCS card
