Project Manager (Multi-Utilities)
Our client, a leading provider within the utilities sector, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team. This role will involve managing a portfolio of multi-utility connection projects across the South West, with a particular focus on 11kV electricity connections.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Multi-Utility Project Manager or an electrically biased Project Manager with a strong background in utility connection projects.
You'll be responsible for a portfolio valued at approximately £2 million, managing 20-30 live projects at various stages, including design, legal, and construction phases.
The business offers excellent opportunities for professional development, including exposure to water and gas connections and progression into higher-voltage projects ranging from 33kV to 132kV.
Key Responsibilities

Manage multi-utility connection projects from inception through to completion.

Liaise closely with Senior Project Managers, Operations Managers, Design Engineers, and Quantity Surveyors to ensure successful project delivery.

Manage site Supervisors, direct labour, and subcontractors.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and safety requirements, including NRSWA.

Maintain commercial awareness, including responsibility for project P&L performance.

Demonstrate an understanding of NERS, WIRS and GIRS accreditation standards.

Build and maintain strong relationships with residential and commercial developers, ICPs, and key stakeholders.

Provide technical support and guidance to operational teams.

Maintain accurate project documentation and produce regular progress reports.

Monitor programme delivery, budgets, health and safety, and quality standards.
Requirements

Previous experience as a Project Manager within the multi-utilities sector, ideally managing 11kV connection projects.

Strong understanding of electricity distribution networks and connection works.

Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Knowledge of CDM Regulations, NRSWA requirements, and safe digging practices.

Excellent organisational and leadership skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate activities across several sites.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
