A sound knowledge and understanding of repairs and maintenance, and schedule of rates.

A sound knowledge and understanding of traditional and modern construction practices, best practice, and associated Regulations.

The ability to prepare basic construction drawings and draft specification.

Experience of property maintenance work in housing that has included undertaking property inspections, diagnosing common property defects and supervising the work of contractors.

Experience of delivering planned maintenance programmes.

Comprehensive knowledge of materials, trades, construction methods and legal/statutory requirements

Experience of managing works to turn around void properties.

Experience of monitoring budgets.

Understanding and experience of leasehold service charging including consultation requirements for

qualifying works (section 20).

An understanding of the Housing, Health & Safety Rating Guidance (HHSRS: Guidance for Landlords and Property-Related Professionals) and practical knowledge of how to assess.
