As an Asphalt Operative, you will:

• Assist in the preparation of road surfaces by levelling and ensuring readiness for asphalt application.
• Lay hot coated asphalt products across various sectors, including aviation, commercial, and highways.
• Safely operate hand tools, plants, and machinery related to asphalt surfacing.
• Perform banksman duties for plant and delivery vehicles.
• Monitor and ensure the quality of asphalt application, following specifications.
• Conduct daily checks and routine maintenance of tools and machinery.
• Champion a culture of safety, promoting zero-harm standards throughout operations.

The ideal candidate must have:

• Proven experience in the road surfacing industry.
• A valid CSCS card.
• Experience operating surfacing plant and machinery.
• A strong commitment to health and safety best practises.
• A driving licence is preferred.

While not essential, the following attributes would be beneficial:

• Previous training or certifications related to surfacing operations.
• Familiarity with various surfacing materials and techniques.

The role involves the operation of various surfacing machines and tools, including pavers, tractors, rollers, as well as hand tools like breakers and Stihl saws.
