We are working with QTS group, who are a leading Engineering and Construction contractor in the Rail Sector. Supporting them with appointing a new Estimator to join their team at either Glasgow or Strathaven offices.
This role is
hybrid working, mix of 3/2 days per week with a 50/50 split of time in the office
. The role also requires 2-4 site visits per month to various locations around Scotland. There is a company car allowance and all expenses and business mileage is paid.
Role and responsibilities:
Researching and assessing information
Researching materials, equipment and labour costs
Collating quotes for materials and from sub-contractors
Planning job timescales
To ensure all tender returns meet the client’s requirements
Liaise with colleagues and internal departments to clarify information
Ensure the company is fully aware of the risk and opportunities involved in each tender
Liaison and communications between the company and the potential client during the tender and pre award periods, including attendance at meetings and technical queries
Preparing and submitting quotations for work
Assisting the Estimator with general duties
Due to the nature of the works, travel and overnight stay will be required
Skills required:
HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
Previous experience within tender based estimating preferred
Confidence with technical drawing interpretation
Experience in a comparable industry sector such as Civil Engineering, Construction, Highways, Infrastructure , Buildings etc Any experience with UK Rail Infrastructure is preferred / desirable
