• Assess and approve building control applications, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations , statutory requirements, and local policies.

• Provide professional advice and guidance to developers, architects, contractors, and the public on building regulations and construction best practices.
• Investigate and address dangerous structures and unauthorised works, taking appropriate enforcement action when necessary.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, assessments, and decisions in accordance with council procedures.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to support safe and sustainable developments.

• Qualified Professional: Degree in building surveying, construction, or a related field, with membership (or working towards) of a professional body such as RICS, CABE, or CIOB.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of Building Regulations , construction standards, and health and safety requirements.
• Practical Experience: Demonstrated experience in building control, plan checking, and site inspections.
