About the Role:

  • Oversee and manage the financial aspects of repairs and maintenance projects for local authority clients, ensuring that budgets are adhered to and costs are controlled.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and valuations for a range of repair and maintenance works, using detailed measurements and specifications.
  • Manage the tendering process, including the preparation of tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts to secure the best terms and conditions.
  • Administer contracts and ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, including managing variations and change orders.
  • Track and report on project costs, identifying any potential financial risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing professional advice and updates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and contract variations.
  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulations and standards, including health and safety requirements.

About the Candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, specifically in voids, retrofitting/decarbonisation or repairs and maintenance projects for local authorities or similar sectors.
  • Strong abilities in cost estimation, financial management, and contract administration, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide clear, actionable insights.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards, including health and safety compliance, and a solid understanding of the local authority framework.
