We are seeking an experienced
Senior Project Manager
to provide client-side project management support across a diverse portfolio of high-profile capital construction projects within the public sector.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of projects valued at approximately
£30 million
, working across regeneration, education and community infrastructure schemes that will have a lasting impact on local communities.
The successful candidate will act as the client-side lead, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and driving projects through the design, procurement and construction phases to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate multiple construction projects with a combined value of circa £30m.

Manage project delivery across design, procurement and construction phases.

Monitor programmes, milestones, budgets and risk management activities.

Coordinate consultants, contractors and key stakeholders.

Drive project actions to ensure successful delivery against objectives and timescales.

Support schemes through the relevant RIBA stages from design development through to completion.

Act as the client's representative, providing technical oversight and informed decision-making.

Chair and facilitate project meetings, governance boards and progress reviews.
-
Produce project reports and performance updates for senior stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, contractual obligations and health and safety regulations.
Current Project Portfolio
You will support the delivery of several significant capital projects, including:
Wombwell Town Centre Redevelopment

£8m-£10m regeneration programme.

Demolition, refurbishment, new-build development and public realm enhancements.
Wath Town Centre Library Development

New community library facility.

Currently progressing through RIBA Stage 4 under a Design & Build contract.
New Special School Development

Circa £10m project.
-
Includes development works associated with a Grade II Listed Building.
Essential Experience
-
Significant experience delivering construction projects in a client-side, consultancy or public sector environment.

Proven track record managing medium to large-scale capital projects.

Strong understanding of construction project lifecycles.

Experience managing multidisciplinary consultant and contractor teams.

Experience delivering projects through the RIBA Plan of Work stages.

Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously.

Strong stakeholder engagement and project governance experience.
Essential Qualifications

Degree (or equivalent) in:

Construction Management

Project Management
-
Building Surveying
-
Quantity Surveying
-
Civil Engineering
-
Or a related discipline
-
Relevant project management qualification or equivalent professional experience.
Desirable
-
Local authority or public sector project delivery experience.

Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB or a similar professional body.

Experience overseeing education, regeneration or heritage projects.
