Are you an experienced accounts professional looking for a varied role within a successful, family-owned business?

MB Connected are delighted to be partnering with a growing construction business to recruit an Accounts Manager into their close-knit finance team.

This is a hands-on role where you'll take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, supporting the smooth running of the business whilst working closely with the Commercial Director and external accountants. You'll play a key role in processing the day-to-day transactions, ensuring the finance function operates efficiently, whilst also having the opportunity to become involved in management reporting and broader finance responsibilities as the business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process purchase ledger invoices and manage supplier accounts.
• Prepare supplier payment runs and reconcile supplier statements.
• Process payroll, VAT returns and CIS returns.
• Maintain accurate financial records using Sage 50.
• Complete bank reconciliations and assist with month-end procedures.
• Support the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
• Liaise with external accountants, providing information for quarterly reviews and year-end accounts.
• Assist with cash flow reporting and general finance administration.
• Support the Commercial Director with ad hoc finance tasks and process improvements.

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience within an Accounts, Finance or Bookkeeping role.
• Good understanding of purchase ledger, payroll, VAT and reconciliations.
• Experience of CIS would be advantageous, although not essential.
• Experience using Sage 50 or similar accounting software.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident communicator with a proactive and hands-on approach.
• AAT qualified, studying towards AAT or Qualified by Experience candidates will all be considered.
