**Senior Project Accountant**Parking**Progression**Exciting Business To Work With**

Location: Peterborough (Hybrid working with occasional travel)

Salary: £65,000 - £70,000

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Accountant to join a growing organisation operating within the energy and infrastructure sector . This is a key role supporting large-scale, long-term projects, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior finance leaders and project teams to deliver high-quality financial insight and reporting.

This position is ideal for a commercially-minded finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly and monthly project reports , including cost analysis and variance commentary
  • Manage long-term project accounting , including capital expenditure recognition
  • Produce monthly management accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet) and consolidated reports
  • Support project budgeting and forecasting
  • Deliver cash flow reporting on a regular basis
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (VAT, year-end accounts, group reporting)
  • Oversee asset and inventory management controls
  • Work closely with project managers to provide real-time financial insights
  • Support M&A activity , including due diligence and post-acquisition integration
  • Assist with year-end audits and liaise with external auditors
  • Maintain adherence to internal controls and ISO standards

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA / CIMA)
  • Proven experience in project accounting , ideally within construction, infrastructure, energy, or renewables
  • Strong knowledge of long-term contract accounting
  • Experience using ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of financial controls
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
