Electrical Estimator

Nottingham

£45k to £55k + Bonus + superb benefits

The Company

A leading provider of mechanical and electrical solutions across sectors that include commercial, industrial, and residential projects.

They have a track record of success and a fantastic name within the industry.

The Opportunity

Due to the award of new contracts and continued impressive growth, they are now looking to strengthen their Project Management team with a suitably qualified and experienced Electrical Estimator.  This is to work on projects up to a value of £2 Million, and collaborating with the Project Managers, Directors, and Business Development team, as well as other internal and external stakeholders.

This is a great time to join as they expand. And the projects and opportunities you’ll work on will be varied and will certainly keep you interested.

What Will You Do?

I can’t put the whole JD in an advert.  However, here’s some of the main aspects of what you’ll do:

  • Evaluate bid specifications and drawings, to ensure everything required to successfully bid and win the project is understood and clearly communicated.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities associated with the project and strategies to address them.
  • Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation for time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Hold site visits and meetings with clients to discuss project requirements and scope.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive and competitive tender packages, ensuring all inclusions and exclusions are clearly detailed.
  • Review and compare sub-contractor and supplier quotes, negotiating to secure the best possible terms.
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and sub-contractors and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Participate in post-tender negotiations and handover meetings.
  • Continuously monitor the progress of projects to ensure alignment and adjust forecasts as necessary.

What You’ll Need

This is an important role within the business, so there’s a few things I’ll need to see in your locker:

  • Relevant qualifications for your craft
  • Significant Electrical Estimating experience
  • A sound understanding of electrical systems, materials and installation methods
  • Experience of working with Project Managers on electromechanical projects
  • Solid understanding of construction processes and project management principles.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • A proven ability to build strong business relationships
  • Professional memberships (RICS, CIBSE) would be useful but not essential

Unfortunately, this would not suit a recent graduate without significant, practical, real-world experience.

We are also not looking for those outside of a reasonable commute to Nottingham or that would need to relocate – No Exceptions

The Rewards

In order to attract the right level of talent, the rewards include:

  • A base salary between £45k and £55k – DOE
  • Company bonus
  • 33 days holiday per year
  • Good company pension
  • Free parking on site
  • Gym Memberships
  • Discounted food
  • Hybrid and working from home options
  • + much more.

If this sound like the role for you, you carry the necessary electrical estimating experience, and you already live within a reasonable commute of Nottingham, please apply and I'll be in touch with those that most suit the position.
