Head Housekeeper

• Temp to Perm role
• Location: W2 Notting Hill Gate
• £16.82 Per Hour PAYE or £19.42per hour via Umbrella
• 40hours per week over 5 days this will be on a rota basis 8am to 4pm
• Report to the General Manager

Our client a residence hotel in London requires a head housekeeper to oversee the daily management and smooth operation of our housekeeping department, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, organisation, and staff supervision. Managing a team of 13 you will be experienced in all aspects of staff management and development and comfortable working to deadlines whilst maintaining a professional and calm demeanour. Good communication, ability to train team members and organise are required essential skills.

The role:

To ensure all guest rooms are kept clean and serviceable, that guest arrival and departures are handled efficiently and that public areas, back and front offices/staff rooms are kept clean. Ensure all maintenance issues are reported and allocated to the correct department (internal or external). Working closely with Management Team to achieve monthly and annual objectives.

• Collect the keys from Reception Desk
• Check arrivals/departures list using the property management system
• Plan work duties of your teams making sure there is no idle time
• Allocate work duties to team members and issue room keys accordingly.
• Assist or allocate necessary help to the team members with any heavy duties
• Train new members of staff to the required standards
• Inspect each room and ensure required standards achieved and maintained:
• Bath; basins; floor; toilet; vacuuming; bed making; dusting; rubbish removal; window cleaning (inside); door plates etc
• Inspect public areas (corridors; staircases; lift; reception; lounge; toilets) and ensure required standards achieved and maintained
• All rooms to be checked for Maintenance issues
• Ensure all duties carried out in accordance with approved Health & Safety procedures.

Personal requirements :

• Intermediate spoken & written English (E)
• High standard of personal hygiene (E)
• Physically active and fit (E)

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 – Catering & Hospitality or similar industry (D)
• PC literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) (E)

Experience

• Head Housekeeper in hospitality (3 Years) (E)
