Join our Highways Service team as a Structures Contract Officer, where you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing contracts related to highway structures. Day-to-day of the role:

Provide leadership in resource planning, procurement, and commissioning to ensure cost-effective and efficient service delivery.

Manage all aspects of contract or service agreements, leading strategic reviews to ensure services are fit for purpose.

Ensure effective commercial performance management and continuous improvement against key performance indicators and service level agreements.

Offer expert advice to stakeholders within the organisation to ensure robust commercial processes and strategies are in place.

Implement systems for contract review and consult stakeholders on service development and direction.

Deliver high-quality analysis of current market conditions and potential changes, collaborating with stakeholders to develop a stable and efficient market.

Advocate for the organisation’s people approach and manage resources to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

A relevant qualification in Structural Engineering / Civil Engineering at degree level.

Membership of a relevant Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering body.

Extensive knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, the Model Contract for Highway Works, and relevant codes of practice.

Experience in asset management of highway structures, including inspection, maintenance, assessment, design, and construction.

Proficiency in Bridge Management Systems and other relevant IT tools.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage complex projects and make strategic decisions.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with various stakeholders.
