The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in supporting project delivery teams, providing commercial guidance, and driving financial performance across a range of civil engineering projects valued from £200k to £10m+. Your commercial acumen will help identify opportunities, manage risks, and ensure project profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver accurate and timely cost and value reporting at project and business unit levels.
• Prepare and update monthly CVRs, cost forecasts, and cash flow reports.
• Manage subcontract procurement, negotiation, and financial accounting.
• Oversee applications for payment, valuations, and final account settlements.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders on commercial issues, including contractual changes and claims.
• Ensure compliance with IChemE and NEC contract forms and commercial governance.
• Proactively identify commercial risks and opportunities to protect and enhance project margins.
• Mentor and support junior commercial team members.

About You:
Essential:

• Proven experience in the construction or civil engineering industry & Water/Utilties
• Strong knowledge of IChemE and NEC contracts and construction law.
• Expertise in cost management, forecasting, and subcontract procurement.
• Excellent communication, numerical, and IT skills (proficient in Microsoft Office).
• Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.

Desirable:

• Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
• Chartered or working towards RICS or relevant professional body membership.
• CSCS card holder.
• Estimation experience and knowledge of direct delivery contracting.
