Graduate Trainee Estimator

Full job description

Graduate / Trainee Estimator – Commercial Interiors

London | Up to £30,000 | Full-time | Full training provided

Are you a recent graduate in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Architecture or a related subject — or perhaps you graduated in a different field and have since gained experience in project support, quotations, sales support, coordination or another detail-focused commercial role?

Would you like to join a highly respected international design company where you’ll receive full training, work with a brilliant team, enjoy beautiful offices and excellent benefits, and have genuine opportunities to develop and grow?

We’re looking for an ambitious, organised and eager-to-learn Graduate / Trainee Estimator to join their London team.

No previous estimating experience is needed — full training will be provided.

A placement year, internship or some early commercial experience would be useful, but isn’t essential.

Why join?

This is a fantastic opportunity to start or develop your career with an established international design business known for its design, quality and innovation .

You can expect:

  • Full training to develop your estimating, commercial and technical skills
  • Genuine opportunities for career development and progression
  • A friendly, outgoing and sociable team
  • Beautiful, design-led London offices
  • The opportunity to work on interesting commercial interior projects
  • Five weeks’ annual leave , plus UK public holidays
  • 9% employer pension contribution
  • Private medical insurance and dental cover
  • Potential for some homeworking once fully trained and established in the role

The team work hard, support each other and enjoy working together, so this would particularly suit someone who enjoys being part of a busy, friendly and collaborative environment.

What does an Estimator actually do?

If you haven’t come across estimating before, don’t worry — you’ll be taught how to do it.

Put simply, you’ll help work out what products are needed for a commercial interiors project, how much is required and what the project will cost .

You’ll be trained to:

  • Review drawings and project information to understand what is required
  • Work out the quantities of acoustic products needed for each project
  • Prepare estimates and quotations
  • Calculate costs using product and project information
  • Identify missing or unclear information and help resolve any queries
  • Update quotations when drawings or project requirements change
  • Keep project information accurate and up to date
  • Work closely with sales, design and other teams to help projects progress smoothly

As your experience develops, you’ll build a valuable mix of commercial, technical and project skills and specialist knowledge within the commercial design and construction industry.

What are we looking for?

More important than previous estimating experience is your attitude and potential.

You’ll ideally be:

  • Comfortable working with numbers and detailed information
  • Accurate and organised
  • A logical problem solver
  • Confident using Excel and learning new systems
  • Curious and keen to learn
  • A good communicator who enjoys working with others
  • Ambitious and keen to develop your career

If you’re looking for your first or next career step and would love the opportunity to learn, grow and become part of a successful international design company , we’d love to hear from you.
