About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Financial Controller
to join a dynamic and growing
construction
company in London. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the business, ensuring strong financial controls, reporting accuracy, and strategic planning to support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly management accounts, P&L statements, and balance sheets.

Implement and maintain strong financial controls and compliance with UK accounting standards.

Manage project costing, job profitability analysis, and cost control across multiple construction projects.

Provide strategic financial advice to senior management, identifying risks and opportunities.

Oversee VAT, CIS, and other construction-specific tax compliance.

Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and key stakeholders.

Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring best practices and efficiency.
Key Requirements

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.

Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of construction accounting, CIS, and WIP accounting.

Excellent analytical skills and a commercial mindset.

Strong leadership and team management experience.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, COINS, Xero, or similar).

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
