Job Title: Business Development Manager - Contract Furniture

Industry Sector: A&D, Commercial Office, Education, Universities, Contract Furnishing Industry, Architects, Interior Design, D&B and Furniture Dealers

Areas to be covered: London

Remuneration: £55,000-£60,000 + 20% Bonus

Benefits: Fully expensed travel & benefits

The role of the Business Development Manager - Contract Furniture will involve:

  • Field sales role promoting a manufacture range of contract furniture
  • Typically targeting commercial office, airports, education/ universities etc.
  • 50% of your time winning specifications with London based interior designers and architects (small element with D&B community and some very occasional travel to Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow etc.)
  • 50% looking account managing circa 75 furniture dealers (our client does not sell direct)
  • Team target of £3m, which you will be responsible for half of
  • Most of the interior designers and architects are within 3 km or our clients impressive London City showroom, hence daily travel into central London
  • Typically 2-3 interior designers and architects or furniture dealer customer appointments per day
  • Carrying out market research to identify sales opportunities
  • Preparing proposals and working closely with our client’s bidding department to negotiate agreements
  • Acting as a brand ambassador

The ideal applicant will be a Business Development Manager - Contract Furniture with:

  • 3-5 years field sales experience of contract furniture (open to fabrics)
  • Must have sold into the London interior design and architect community A&D, contacts advantageous
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Enterprise-level problem solver
  • Can-do approach, solutions-orientated mindset
  • Resilient, resourceful and entrepreneurial
