A steel contractor in Harrow is looking for a Setting Out Engineer to join their team, working on a variety of structural steel projects across London. In this role, you will take responsibility for surveying and alignment works, ensuring accuracy, quality, and safety on site.

Salary : £50,000 - £65,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

• Surveying and setting out of structural steel projects.
• Conduct pre-start base inspections, structural alignments, and as-built surveys.
• Process and report survey data to support project teams.
• Work closely with site teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure accuracy and quality.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Qualified site surveyor (CSCS or equivalent) with experience in structural steel setting out.
• Experience operating total stations and producing survey data for steel projects.
• Familiarity with CAD/BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and surveying equipment such as Leica, Trimble, or GNSS systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organised, and able to work independently or collaboratively.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
