The Sub Agent Role

As Sub Agent, you'll take responsibility for the delivery of smaller civil engineering schemes or support the Site Agent and Project Manager on larger, complex projects. This is an ideal opportunity for a Site Engineer looking to step up into a more autonomous site management role within a structured, supportive environment.

You'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of safety, quality, environmental compliance and cost control while supporting programme delivery and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day site activities and supervising works on site
• Supporting programme planning and ensuring works are delivered to schedule
• Interpreting drawings and specifications and providing engineering support
• Ensuring all staff, subcontractors and visitors are correctly inducted and competent
• Maintaining strong client, stakeholder and subcontractor relationships
• Producing accurate site records, reports and 'as-built' information
• Leading health, safety, environmental and quality compliance on site
• Managing cost control, site diaries and commercial performance
• Coordinating site resources and resolving issues proactively

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong background in civil engineering projects
• Working knowledge of NEC contracts, CDM regulations and cost control
• Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• CSCS card
• SMSTS
• NEBOSH or IOSH
• Full UK driving licence
• Confident leader with strong communication and people management skills

Desirable

• Water sector experience
• Temporary Works Coordinator
• Service avoidance and confined space training
• Leadership experience or readiness to step up
• Working towards CEng / IEng / AMICE
• CPCS Appointed Person
