One of the largest housing associations is looking for a dedicated Caretaker to deliver high-quality caretaking services across designated estates in South London.
This role is crucial in ensuring customer satisfaction among a diverse range of residents and in maintaining the safety and security of the properties.
Day-to-day of the role
:

Collaborate with maintenance, customer service, and housing teams to identify and address communal repairs, including entry-phone systems, and keep residents informed.

Manage the opening and closing of play areas on time and conduct Level 1 playground inspections and reports.

Support Housing Officers and Decant Officers to ensure properties are ready for letting.

Monitor and report any defects in lighting on external walkways, staircases, landings, and lifts.

Regularly compact domestic and bulk refuse and advocate for recycling within the estate.

Provide access to emergency services, hold keys for communal areas, and maintain overall security on the estate.

Assist in setting up the residents’ Sheltered Community Centre and distribute information and newsletters to residents.

Provide emergency call-out cover on a rota basis and report community safety issues, anti-social behaviour, or crime.

Conduct minor maintenance tasks as directed and maintain records of all activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience in basic repairs and general improvements to physical environments.

Well-developed communication and customer service skills.

Proven ability to deliver a positive first-class service to customers.

Strong planning, organising, prioritisation, and administration skills.

Ability to exchange information effectively with colleagues, customers, and clients.

Good standard of written English for reporting
