Overview of the position

The position of Technical Specialist - Fire Performance and Safety will cover the Phenolic, PIR, Mineral wool and XPS products the business manufactures.  Providing advice to customers on the fire performance of the products, how they are tested and where the product can be used on each building type and application, following the guidance within the building Approved Documents and technical handbook documents.

You will be developing content, PowerPoint presentations and training material to help provide knowledge/support to customers, also working with external consultants to support this activity.

You will build the test data available to customers, and support the fire testing of Kingspan products and the systems the products are used within.

Responsibilities of our Technical Specialist - Fire Performance and Safety

• Creating information on the fire performance of products and systems, including testing standards.
• Offering guidance on building regulations and industry standards requirements and the use of Kingspan products
• Providing training to internal and external customers
• Performing fire testing on products and systems.
• Developing and delivering presentations on fire performance and safety topics.

What we are looking for in our Technical Specialist - Fire Performance and Safety

You will have:

• Knowledge of insulation performance, specification and manufacture.
• Be able to demonstrate a high level of experience and knowledge of fire testing, relating standards and performance of Kingspan products in fire tests.
• Be able to demonstrate a strong technical background. Familiarity/ knowledge/ appreciation of British and international standards ISO standards for construction and insulation.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and inform others.
• Highly motivated with a proven ability to work on own initiative in a dynamic work environment with changing priorities.
• Educated to degree level in technical discipline.
