Fabric Supervisor

Based in Kent, on site

Length: 3 months

Inside IR35

Rate: £300 per day via an umbrella company

We are seeking an experienced Fabric Supervisor to join the Property Services team within a busy local authority. This role is key to maintaining the condition, safety, and usability of our corporate estate, ensuring buildings are fit for purpose for staff, residents, and service users.

You will take the lead on all building fabric maintenance, overseeing contractors and works across a varied portfolio including offices, schools, community centres, and operational properties.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise delivery of fabric maintenance and repair works, including roofing, brickwork, carpentry, glazing, flooring, and internal finishes
  • Manage and monitor contractors and suppliers, ensuring delivery against SLAs, KPIs, and contract specifications
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and statutory regulations across all works
  • Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fabric repairs
  • Conduct site inspections, condition surveys, and quality audits
  • Support minor works and refurbishment projects across the estate


Experience and knowledge required:

  • Proven experience in a Hard FM / fabric supervisory role – this is desirable, the client is willing to speak with highly experienced tradesmen looking to step up
  • Must have IOSH qualification
  • Strong knowledge of building fabric elements (roofing, walls, finishes, structural elements, etc.)
  • Experience managing contractors and maintenance contracts
