An exciting role has opened up for a seasoned Sub Agent to join the team working on the A9 highways near Inverness. This significant civil engineering project, valued at £130M, will span from 2024 to the end of 2026, offering substantial career growth opportunities as it progresses.
Your new role
You will oversee and manage a specific section of the project, leading a team of Section Engineers and Site Engineers. Responsibilities include the design and construction of a new dual carriageway, along with related earthworks, drainage, access tracks, structures, and utilities near Inverness in the North of Scotland. Additional opportunities are available across the North & Central Belt of Scotland in various civil, highway, and major build projects due to recent contract wins.
What you'll need to succeed

Maintain a strong focus on Zero Harm.

Support the company's sustainability initiatives.

Inspire and manage the team, ensuring competency and providing training/coaching as needed.

Comprehensive understanding of temporary works and their implementation timelines.

Provide technical guidance and coaching to subordinates.

Take ownership of the production, checking, and submission of Handover Documentation.

Keep an accurate diary, including interactions with external organisations (subcontractors).

Develop and monitor a budget based on the resourced programme, reviewing costs weekly.

Manage subcontractors effectively.

Hold a valid driving licence and CSCS Card, with SSSTS or SMSTS qualifications.

Be an excellent team player, capable of working independently without constant supervision.

Possess strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
