Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Surveying Manager will act as lead surveyor for designated developments, taking full responsibility for cost control, valuations, payments and financial performance across the project lifecycle.

This is a hands‑on role within a fast‑paced housebuilding environment, requiring strong commercial awareness, accuracy and the ability to manage multiple developments simultaneously.

Key responsibilities

Take full commercial ownership of assigned developments
Produce accurate cost plans, budgets, forecasts and reports
Monitor site performance against approved budgets and financial targets
Manage valuations, payments and cost control measures
Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
Provide clear cost and financial reporting to senior management
Work closely with Sales, Land, Construction and Technical teams
Ensure compliance with standards, Building Regulations and procedures

About you

Proven experience in a similar role within residential housebuilding
Minimum HNC in Building Studies or related discipline
Strong commercial and financial management skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Proficient in Excel and cost management systems (e.g. SiteStream)
Organised, proactive and confident working independently

Desirable:

Degree in Quantity Surveying
RICS qualified or working towards chartership
