Electrical Project Manager - Data Center Construction
Locations: Iowa
Compensation: $130,000 - $170,000 annually
Travel Rotation: Mandatory
Position Summary
An established electrical contractor is seeking experienced
Electrical Project Managers
to oversee the execution of complex mission critical & commercial construction projects. This is a site-based leadership role responsible for the complete lifecycle of construction projects from pre-construction through closeout with a focus on safety, budget, quality, and schedule.
Duties & Scope

Develop and build strong project teams while delivering high-quality results, meeting customer expectations, managing scope, delivering on schedule, and staying within budget.

Drive division profitability through effective project execution and financial oversight.

Develop and lead project management technical and scheduling objectives, procurement activities, contractual requirements, personnel assignments, and capacity planning.

Evaluate and continuously improve departmental systems and processes to meet customer requirements and profitability goals.

Manage, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 3 direct reports and 10 total team members.

Review overall contractual requirements for projects and apply appropriate process design methodologies as needed.

Ensure project schedule requirements are met, adjusting priorities and milestones based on changing customer needs, resource availability, and job requirements.

Engage with customers to ensure expectations are clearly understood and met before, during, and after project completion.

Provide oversight and coordination for third-party construction firms.

Manage the project review process with a strong focus on financial forecasting and performance.

Ensure delivery of high-quality engineering, studies, and overall project execution.

Proactively and consistently communicate challenges, risks, and successes to stakeholders.

Oversee invoicing per project terms and negotiate appropriate change orders.
Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in commercial or mixed-use electrical construction.

Strong understanding of electrical power engineering principles.

Field experience coordinating with construction management teams.

Extensive knowledge of project scheduling, bids, take-offs, change orders, and contract administration.

Proven ability to develop relationships and support business development efforts.

Demonstrated success managing a profitable project portfolio.

Exceptional initiative, execution, and communication skills (written and verbal).

Strong analytical, motivational, and leadership capabilities.

Electrical Engineering or Construction Management degree strongly preferred.

Journeyman or Master Electrician license is a plus.
