Reporting to the Senior Design Manager, the Engineer will support all stages of the design process across multiple residential projects, from proposal through to completion.
You will assist in developing technical solutions, preparing design documentation and coordinating with internal teams, consultants and statutory bodies to ensure projects are delivered on programme, to quality standards and within budget.

Key responsibilities

Provide technical engineering advice throughout the development process
Prepare engineering reports to support land acquisition and appraisals
Work with external consultants to deliver practical, buildable and cost‑effective designs
Support civils, structural and utility design, challenging proposals where required
Attend technical and site meetings, following up on actions and risks
Assist with statutory consents, planning conditions and legal agreements
Maintain and update risk registers, identifying risks and opportunities
Support engineering and utility matters across the wider business

About you

4–5+ years’ experience with a housebuilder or consultant in a similar role
Strong engineering knowledge with a proactive, problem‑solving approach
Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely
Competent in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
Well organised, detail‑focused and able to meet tight deadlines
Experience working with local authorities, SEPA and Scottish Water preferred

Desirable:

BSc in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification
