About the Role

AVTAV is proud to be working in partnership with a leading construction company client to recruit an experienced Construction Supervisor holding a valid CSCS Gold Card for a project at Heathrow Airport.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional to join a busy site environment and play a key role in supervising construction activities, coordinating site teams, maintaining health and safety standards, and ensuring works are completed efficiently and to the required standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day running of site activities, coordinating operatives and subcontractors, and working closely with site management and other project stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities

The role may include:

* Supervising construction activities and site personnel on a day-to-day basis.

* Coordinating and allocating work to site operatives and subcontractors.

* Monitoring progress of works and ensuring activities are completed in accordance with project requirements.

* Ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.

* Supporting Site Managers and Project Managers with the delivery of construction activities.

* Monitoring site attendance, productivity, and workforce requirements.

* Ensuring workers follow site rules, RAMS, permits, and other relevant procedures.

* Conducting or supporting toolbox talks and site briefings where required.

* Identifying and reporting hazards, defects, delays, and other site issues.

* Liaising with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other site personnel.

* Checking that materials, tools, plant, and equipment are available and suitable for planned works.

* Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and site organisation.

* Supporting inspections and ensuring corrective actions are followed up.

* Maintaining accurate site records and reporting relevant information to site management.

* Ensuring all construction activities comply with applicable Health & Safety requirements.

Essential Requirements

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

* Valid CSCS Gold Card relevant to the role.

* Previous experience working in a construction supervisory position.

* Experience supervising construction operatives, subcontractors, or site teams.

* Good understanding of construction site Health & Safety requirements.

* Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with site teams and management.

* Strong organisational and leadership skills.

* Ability to work effectively in a busy and fast-paced construction environment.

* Good attention to detail.

* Reliable, punctual, and professional approach.

* Ability to identify and report site hazards and issues.

* A proactive approach to resolving day-to-day site challenges.

* Good verbal and written communication skills.

Technical Skills, Licences & Experience

* Valid CSCS Gold Card appropriate to the position.

* Previous construction supervisory experience is required.

* Knowledge of construction methods, site procedures, and Health & Safety requirements.

* Experience working with RAMS, permits, toolbox talks, and site documentation is desirable.

* Experience working on large-scale construction projects is desirable.

* Experience working within an airport or other highly regulated environment would be advantageous.

* Additional construction-related qualifications or relevant supervisory qualifications are desirable.

Previous experience and qualifications should only be listed as essential where specifically required by the client.

Due to the nature and location of the role at Heathrow Airport, successful applicants may be required to complete appropriate pre-employment screening, security vetting, and compliance checks before commencing work.
