A specialist project and cost consultancy in Hertfordshire is seeking a capable Project Quantity Surveyor to join their established team. Delivering work across commercial, retail and airport environments, this opportunity offers a Project Quantity Surveyor the chance to manage varied and technically interesting commissions for a strong client base.
The successful Project Quantity Surveyor will take responsibility for projects through both pre- and post-contract stages, from initial cost planning and tendering through to valuations, change management and final account. Working closely with clients, contractors and design teams, the Project Quantity Surveyor will provide clear commercial advice and help maintain strong control over cost, programme and project risk.
This role is well suited to a Project Quantity Surveyor who already has solid UK consultancy experience and is ready to take on greater ownership. The Project Quantity Surveyor will gain exposure to live commercial and retail schemes alongside airport projects, where careful coordination, procurement and cost management are particularly important.
Project Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:
Preparing cost plans, estimates and project budgets
Producing tender documentation and supporting contractor procurement
Managing valuations, variations, change control and payment recommendations
Preparing regular cost reports and commercial updates for clients
Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
Advising on procurement routes and contractual matters
Attending site, client and design team meetings
Managing commissions independently across commercial, retail and airport projects
Project Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline
Relevant UK PQS or cost consultancy experience
Working towards MRICS through the RICS APC, or already chartered
Experience across commercial, retail, aviation or airport projects would be advantageous
Good knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
Strong numerical, reporting and organisational skills
Confident dealing directly with clients, consultants and contractors
In Return:
£50,000 - £60,000 per annum
