Qualified Joiner – Bury Council

Location: Bradley Fold Road, Bolton, BL2 6RS

Pay Rate: £23.00 – £25.00 per hour PAYE

Temporary Contract: Full Time | 3 - Month Contract

Bury Council are looking for an experienced Qualified Joiner to join their repairs and maintenance team on a full-time basis for an initial 3-month contract .

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson with experience in social housing, repairs, maintenance, voids, planned works and capital investment programmes.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Carry out all aspects of joinery work across residential and commercial properties managed by Bury Council.
• Complete first and second fix joinery tasks including:
  
  • Doors and door frames
  • Skirting boards and architraves
  • Window repairs
  • Lock repairs and replacements
• Install and repair kitchen units, worktops and associated fixtures.
• Repair and renew composite doors and UPVC windows where required.
• Gain access to a variety of door locking systems and window mechanisms with minimal damage.
• Undertake carpentry maintenance including:
  
  • Timber roofing repairs
  • Flooring repairs
  • Boxing-in works
  • Stud wall construction
• Carry out relevant multi-skilled repairs in line with qualifications and multi-skilling agreements.
• Diagnose tenant-reported repairs and provide accurate information to planners.
• Maintain vehicle stock levels and accurately record materials used.
• Utilise PDA/tablet technology to receive and complete work orders, update records in real time and order materials.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety legislation, risk assessments and safe working practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

NVQ Level 3 in Joinery (or equivalent qualification)

Valid Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 3 penalty points

Experience using a tablet/PDA to:

• Receive and complete work orders
• Record job information
• Order materials
• Update systems in real time

Strong experience in repairs, maintenance and diagnostic joinery work

Ability to work independently and deliver excellent customer service
