Plasterer/Tiler

Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Council are looking for a Plasterer/Tiler to join our team in Great Wenham . You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary of £33,366 - £39,513 per annum (pro rata).

Full time, part time and job share opportunities will be considered.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a Plasterer/Tiler to join our Housing Repairs and Maintenance Team. To be successful, you will share our values, commitment, and motivation to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities.

About the role

This is an opportunity to join the councils new dynamic housing repairs team.

  • You will be part of a dedicated team responsible for undertaking high quality reactive works across our 7000 occupied properties.
  • Work will include plastering, tiling and wet trades and you will need to be adaptable, customer focussed and resourceful when working in the team or independently across the districts.
  • You will provide outstanding customer service and excellent standards of performance to the public and tenants of Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils.

About you

In addition to having strong technical plastering, tiling and wet trade skills. you will need to demonstrate:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Plastering or Tiling
  • awareness of related Health and Safety issues, practice and responsibilities
  • ability to use mobile tablet technology
  • good team working skills with the ability to work independently as well
  • a “can do” attitude to providing solutions for residents/tenants
  • good customer service and communication skills.
