Full job description

Description and requirements

At Skanska, we're shaping the way we live, work and connect. As one of the world's largest construction and development companies, we work together with customers, communities and partners to shape a better society.

We are currently recruiting for an Agent where you'll be based on the Lower Thames Crossing project.

The Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) is one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. LTC is a new road that will connect Kent and Essex through a tunnel beneath the River Thames and will be the greenest road ever built in the UK - creating six times more green space than road. The reliable new route will almost double road capacity over the river east of London to reduce congestion and give millions of people more choice on where they live, work and spend their valuable time.

We have a diverse programme team on LTC that reflects the communities we work in and fosters an inclusive culture by actively supporting the programme's Purpose, Principles and Cultural Pillars and growing employee networks.

As the Agent, you will:

  • Take control of the management of resources within a section or area as designated by the Construction Manager.
  • Draft and progress key project deliverables at ECI stage.
  • Review contractual agreements and develop design, working methods, programme and forecast costs with the Construction Manager, General Foreman and Subcontractors / Suppliers identifying any inaccuracies or inconsistencies, and feedback any changes made to the QA and QS teams.
  • Develop programmes and forecast budgets, assess actual programme and productivity achieved and review weekly, taking action where appropriate, and reporting any changes to the project manager and QS department.
  • Be fully conversant with subcontractors contract conditions, develop job specific subcontract conditions and manage the subcontractors account with the QS team.

We are looking for:

  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering.
  • Understanding of Engineering Principles and extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices.
  • Relevant CSCS Card.
  • Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management.
  • Experience of working on Highways Infrastructure project, highlighting areas of responsibilities.

What we offer:

  • 24/7 digital GP service for you and your family
  • Financial wellbeing and employee assistance
  • Professional development
  • Enhanced family benefits (including maternity, paternity, dependants and parental bereavement leave)
