Finishing Manager

We are actively recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced Finishing Manager to join a well-established residential project in central Exeter on a short-term contract basis. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work with a respected main contractor, ensuring high-quality finishes in the final stages of construction.

About the Role:

As Finishing Manager, you will take full ownership of the internal finishing phase of the project, ensuring all aspects of snagging and completion are managed efficiently and to a high standard. You will be expected to liaise directly with subcontractors, site teams, and management to push the project towards a clean and timely handover.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed inspections of plots and communal areas to create and manage accurate snag lists

  • Allocate and communicate snagging responsibilities clearly to relevant subcontractors

  • Monitor progress on remedial works, re-snag as required, and follow through to final completion

  • Liaise with the Site Manager and internal teams to ensure standards and deadlines are maintained

  • Ensure all finishes are in line with NHBC/building control standards and client expectations

  • Maintain daily records and reporting for QA and compliance

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a Finishing Manager or similar role on residential schemes

  • Excellent knowledge of finishing trades and strong attention to detail

  • Strong communication and coordination skills

  • CSCS card (Black or Gold preferred), SMSTS or SSSTS beneficial

  • Ability to work independently and proactively under tight deadlines
