My client is looking for a qualified Financial Controller who can lead from the front, manage a talented finance team, and steer the financial operations as the business undergoes a number of mergers and acquisitions across the North West.

The Financial Controller will have full ownership of the finance department - from managing project costs to overseeing all accounts through to audit. You will play a critical role in supporting the companies ongoing growth and ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency across the board.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop the finance team , ensuring smooth daily operations.
• Take full control of financial accounts, including preparation through to audit .
• Presenting to board on a monthly basis
• Oversee project cost management , ensuring accurate tracking and financial reporting on all construction projects.
• Overseeing the monthly management accounts , forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
• Implement strong financial controls to safeguard the business and ensure compliance.
• Work closely with Commercial Directors to provide clear financial insights, helping to drive profitability.
• Act as the key contact for external auditors , ensuring timely and accurate audit completion.
• Support senior leadership with strategic financial analysis to guide business decisions.

What You'll Need

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller in a fast-paced, high growth and multi-site environment.
• Hands on Management and Financial Accounts experience with a firm understanding of financial reporting and audits.
• Experience in leading a finance team , with excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Professional qualifications (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA) are highly desirable.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work autonomously and influence key stakeholders.
