Legal Counsel

Central Scotland | Full-time

Join a leading UK construction, infrastructure, and support services business working on major built environment projects. As Legal Counsel, you’ll play a key role in managing contractual risk, supporting high-value bids, and contributing to sustainable development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Construction & Contracts

  • Provide legal support across the pre-construction lifecycle
  • Review contracts, identify risks, and advise on mitigation strategies
  • Support bid teams and senior stakeholders on contractual exposure

Disputes & Claims

  • Assist with claims, adjudications, and dispute resolution
  • Deliver clear legal advice, including risk and merits assessments

Governance & Risk

  • Support legal governance frameworks and reporting
  • Maintain accurate legal documentation and systems
  • Contribute to risk management, lessons learned, and continuous improvement

About You

  • Qualified solicitor (3+ PQE)
  • Scots Law qualified (dual qualification advantageous)
  • Experience in construction, infrastructure, or related sectors
  • Strong across both contentious and non-contentious construction matters
  • Commercial mindset with excellent stakeholder skills
