We are currently recruiting for a client who is a well-established building maintenance contractor based in Eastbourne. The are hiring for Bookkeeper, with previous experience in the construction industry and an excellent working knowledge of Xero.
Day-to-day of the role:

Maintain financial records including purchases, receipts, and payments.

Record daily financial transactions and complete the posting process.

Handle CIS procedures and processes.

Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.

Prepare management accounts and process year-end journals.
-
Manage accounts receivable/payable in a timely manner.

Record cash receipts and handle bank deposits.

Make supplier payments and manage credit control.

Maintain the fixed asset register.

Manage petty cash, maintaining daily records of payments and receipts, ensuring that documentation is accurate and meets regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

Qualified at AAT / ICB level or a minimum of 3 years industry experience.

Experience using Xero.

Excellent understanding of bookkeeping processes.

Must have excellent communication skills.

Attention to detail is essential along with a methodical approach.

Adaptable and motivated team player with a flexible outlook, prepared to undertake other office duties as required.
