Business Development Manager (multi-utilities)

Salary: Up to £50k + Comms + Bonus

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join a leading gas and electricity connections company. In this role, you will be responsible for selling electrical, gas, and water connections to housebuilders and developers . Additionally, you will identify opportunities for cross selling the wider group’s products, such as EV charging solutions, metering, and data services. Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure that monthly sales, margin and KPI targets are not only met but exceeded.
  • Generation and management of a self-discovered opportunity pipeline as well closing warm leads
  • Tendering activities, and customer negotiation process
  • Ensure that all proposals are prepared and submitted within agreed timeframes
  • Ensuring that all proposals are followed through to conversion with detailed feedback.
  • Provide detailed win and loss analysis .
  • Creating and maintaining lasting relationships with customers, engaging with key individuals to understand their opportunity/project requirements.
  • Understanding customer drivers and incorporating into the proposed solutions.
  • Provide accurate market and sales reports and feedback to support and drive the BD activity

Skills and experience required:

  • A depth of experience and knowledge of the multi-utilities industry.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Business Development within energy/utilities
  • A background in ICP/UIP/IDNO/IGT/utilities infrastructure - Desirable
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Sales and Marketing techniques.
  • Sales and Tender management including customer negotiation and commercial risk mitigations.
