An opportunity to join a fast growing, established brand who are expanding their team to bring on board an experience Specification Sales Manager.

Client Details

Our client is a leading manufacturer of high-security doors, architectural steel doors, and physical security solutions. With a reputation for quality, innovation, and exceptional service, we supply sectors including commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and public services. Our client continues to grow and are now looking for a proactive Specification Sales Manager to develop relationships with Tier 1 Contractors, architects, specifiers, and key decision-makers to drive project-based sales.

As a Specification Sales Manager , you will be responsible for generating demand for our client's solutions by influencing project specifications at an early stage. You will work closely with Main Contractors, architects, consultants and end-users to ensure our client's products are the preferred choice for construction and refurbishment projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent relationship-building skills, and a strategic approach to sales.

Description

Specification & Project Development

  • Identify and target key projects where products can be specified.
  • Build strong relationships with architects, specifiers, consultants, and main contractors.
  • Provide technical guidance and support on product selection, compliance, and design integration.
  • Deliver CPD (Continuing Professional Development) presentations to influence specifications.

Sales & Business Growth

  • Develop and execute a strategy to increase project-based sales.
  • Work collaboratively with the internal sales and estimating teams to convert specifications into orders.
  • Track project pipelines, ensuring follow-ups and engagement at key project milestones

Market Intelligence & Product Development

  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and competitor activity.
  • Provide feedback to the product development and marketing teams to enhance offerings.
  • Represent the business at trade shows, industry events, and networking meetings.

Reporting & CRM Management

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, leads, and project specifications using CRM tools.
  • Prepare regular reports and forecasts for senior management.
  • Monitor performance against targets and adjust strategies as needed.

Profile

  • Experience selling Construction products via Specification with a good network with Tier 1 Contractors
  • Proven track record of driving Sales with Main Contractors and Architects, with a good understanding of developing new Sales and managing projects cradle to grave
  • Strong understanding of the construction specification process.
  • Excellent relationship-building and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and building regulations.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to travel to meet clients and attend industry events.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with strong negotiation skills.
