Our client, a well-established, family-owned specialist engineering contractor, is looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer to support ongoing growth within the Scottish Water Framework. Based in Central Scotland, the successful candidate will work on a variety of water pipeline projects across Scotland, taking responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of works from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:Conduct setting out and surveying on-site
Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with health and safety standards
Maintain quality control across all site activities
Review design drawings, specifications, and quantities for accuracy
Prepare 2D and 3D site sketches
Develop method statements and risk assessments
Coordinate with site teams and subcontractors
Provide technical support and undertake general site engineering duties
Manage materials efficiently, reducing waste wherever possible
Maintain regular communication with the client
Support and mentor junior site staff as required
Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Proven experience in civil engineering site work, ideally within the water sector
Background in water pipeline projects is highly desirable
Proficient in setting out, surveying, and use of AutoCAD
Familiar with Microsoft Office applications
CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid certifications are advantageous
DOMS certification is preferred
Strong communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach
Willingness to travel throughout Scotland
Full UK driving licence
