Advanced Technical Trainer – Construction Plant

Location: Crewe

Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week

Closing Date: Ongoing

Salary and Benefits: Includes a potential welcome bonus of up to £5,000 (paid over two years) and access to STEP payments of up to £5,000.

Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Advanced Technical Trainer to join a growing engineering training environment, delivering specialist training in Construction Plant.

The organisation has invested significantly in modern engineering facilities, including advanced training centres and purpose-built apprenticeship academies, supporting a wide range of engineering disciplines.

About the Role

This role involves delivering high-quality training and assessment to Construction Plant apprentices attending on block release from their employers. The position requires a balance of hands-on practical delivery, classroom-based learning, and ongoing learner support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver apprenticeship training in line with industry and awarding body standards
  • Plan and deliver both practical and theoretical training sessions
  • Carry out assessments on-site and across wider programmes when required
  • Support, mentor and guide apprentices throughout their learning journey
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with employer partners
  • Ensure all activities meet health and safety, compliance and safeguarding requirements

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous industry experience within Construction Plant, such as operations, maintenance or engineering
  • A minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject
  • Experience in training, teaching or mentoring would be advantageous
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of industry regulations and health and safety standards
  • A motivated and proactive approach, with an interest in developing others

Additional Information

Teaching qualifications are not essential, and support may be provided to achieve these if required.
