We are looking to recruit an Estimator to work for a thriving business based in Dudley. You ideally need to have a minimum of 1 years estimating experience in a construction or joinery-based role. The role will report into the Sales & Office Manager.

The main duties will be:
  • Prepare high quality quotations by evaluating enquiries, drawings, specifications, and related documents
  • Understand technical capabilities and product suitability with regards to environment and specification
  • Identify labour, material, and time requirements by studying enquiries, drawings, specifications, and related documents
  • Deal with inbound telephone & counter sales enquiries as required
  • Review and where necessary, liaise with relevant business delivery departments (CAD, Contracts and Production) ensuring proposed contracts can be fulfilled technically, operationally, and commercially
  • Obtain quotations from external suppliers
  • Ensure all tenders have full and complete electronic files
  • Ensure tender requirements / submission dates are met
  • Have awareness of competitor movements in terms of pricing or ranges promoted
  • Effective follow up of tenders / quotations of interest e.g., live contracts and / or jobs of significant value or opportunity
  • Liaise with and build relationships with customers internal and external
  • Maintain and expand technical knowledge by attending any company provided training as required


Qualifications & skills required for job role:
  • Minimum of 1 years Estimating experience in a Construction or Joinery based role
  • Understanding of Technical and Construction Drawings
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills along with strong computing skills (Word & Excel)
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to interface directly and effectively with customers & work colleagues
