Job Opportunity: Site / Setting Out Engineer

Nicholas Associates is recruiting for an experienced Site / Setting Out Engineer to join a dynamic team in Balsall Common, Solihull. You will play a critical role in the construction of a new bridge structure, ensuring the delivery of reinforced concrete works according to contract drawings and specifications. This position requires a solid Civil Engineering background, with specific experience in reinforced concrete (RC) structures.

Key Responsibilities :

• Support the delivery of RC structures, adhering to contract drawings and specifications.
• Perform accurate setting out and as-built surveys.
• Manage quality checksheets and conduct onsite inspections.
• Assist with short-term programme planning and progress reporting.

Requirements :

• Civil Engineering experience, particularly in RC structures.
• Proficient in the use of Trimble or Leica EDMs & Laser Levels.
• Strong understanding of reinforcement drawings and BBS.
• Excellent communication skills, able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• CSCS card required; other qualifications (IOSH, SMSTS, SSSTS) are desirable.

Health, Safety & Quality :

• Ensure adherence to company health, safety, and quality standards.
• Assist with QA records, NCRs, defects, and quality readiness reviews.
