Position Overview:
As the Buyer, you will play a critical role in developing a streamlined and effective procurement function. This position is ideal for a proactive individual who can design and implement purchasing procedures, negotiate supplier agreements, and collaborate with project teams to meet material and service needs. You will focus on securing cost-effective, high-quality supplies and ensuring efficient support for project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and Implement Procurement Processes:
Design and establish structured procurement workflows, including requisition procedures, approval processes, and tracking systems.

Supplier Management:
Source, evaluate, and build relationships with suppliers in the fit-out and construction industries. Negotiate terms to achieve optimal value and quality.

Rebate Management:
Oversee supplier rebate agreements, timing purchases to maximise business benefits.

Contract Oversight:
Manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance, timely renewals, and favourable terms.

Budget Management and Cost Control:
Collaborate with project teams to monitor budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain a comprehensive procurement database.

Team Collaboration and Training:
Promote awareness and adherence to procurement processes, standards, and best practices across the organisation.

Performance Monitoring:
Report on procurement metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and process improvements.
Requirements:

Proven experience in a procurement or buying role, ideally in construction, fit-out, or a related sector.

Strong understanding of purchasing principles, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiation.

Demonstrated ability to set up and manage procurement functions independently.
