We are seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to join our dynamic construction & engineering client in the heart of London on an initial 3-month contract.
This role is crucial for managing financial reporting, project accounting, and payroll, ensuring compliance with UK regulations. If you have a proactive mindset, strong analytical skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this position is ideal for you.
This role has a high chance of becoming a permanent opportunity for the right person and offers hybrid working – 3 days per week in the office.
Day-to-day of the role:

Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, financial statements, and reports for senior management.

Conduct bank & cash reconciliations, weekly cash flow reconciliation, and maintain the monthly cash flow forecast.

Process and reconcile payroll journals, supplier invoices, and other key financial data.

Conduct cost-benefit analyses, margin analyses, and profitability reviews to support strategic decision-making.

Monitor and analyse P&L variances, oversee and review credit card transactions.

Develop, implement, and maintain financial budgets and forecasts, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and audit requirements.

Manage UK payroll processes, including P11D submissions and VAT reporting for multiple regions.

Oversee financial aspects of projects, ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking.

Lead month-end closing processes and work closely with internal teams to analyse financial needs and challenges.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with at least 3 years' experience in detailed month-end accounts preparation.

Strong experience in project accounting and preparation of monthly management financial reports.

Proficient in handling auditing processes and direct liaison with external auditors.

Experienced in managing UK payroll processes and submissions.

Team management experience, specifically supervising accounts assistants and overseeing month-end processes.

Proficient user of Xero and advanced Excel skills; financial modelling experience is advantageous.

Excellent communication skills to simplify complex financial data.

Meticulous attention to detail, process-driven, highly organised, and adaptable in a rapidly changing environment.
